Winn-Dixie is getting its dried legumes from an unclean source! They used to say on the package that "This produce is grown in Mother Earth's good soil. If some dirt gets on the beans please wash it off...." I wrote them to point out that Mother E wraps her legumes in nice clean PODS and the dirt was getting on the beans in their careless factory, NOT the fields. They have changed their apology but their beans are still dirty and/or wormy. Is Kroeger any cleaner?
Water on: Get hair/body wet
Water off: Shampoo
Water on: Rinse
Water off: Soap and condition
Water on: Rinse
Water off
Sticking to this pledge has been easier than I thought it would be, and it has certainly made me more aware of my water usage.
I already do most of the things on the list, but would like to focus on the #2 (shorter shower).
29: I am going to send my $10 to SOS today. There is also a Chewacla Creek group that I am going to contact.
40: I pledge to have no children for at least a year. New people take up a lot of water.
You wouldn't believe what's in the creek. Last week I picked up 2 basketballs and a football along with the usual beers cans and coke bottles. I found a mailbox yesterday. It was full of sand and 5/6 buried, so I couldn't pry it out. I also found a traffic control barrel. It was too big for me, too.
I can do nos. 3, 4, 24, 29, and 40 from the list. We do a lot of that stuff anyway, but I'll be specific.
3: I can do this. No problem. An electric toothbrush helps with this, too, although using electricity for the brush = burning coal. One way or another, I won't run the water.
4: I usually do that anyway, but I'll shave only once a week for the next 40 days.
Quoting Chip Busch:
Used the last of my rain barrel water today. I need to get more, or do more successful raindancing.
I did this method the other day to flush the toilet, and accidentally flushed the dirty cloth as well - Hope it does not clog the pipe!!
